Eulachon Harvest

Harvesting Eulachon. Its the beginning of the Eulachon (Oolichan) season in the Skeena River. Eulachon are small oily fish that make their way up the Skeena River to spawn in late winter / early spring. Observing this event is one of my favorite signs of spring.

Northwest Summer

I think I say every season is my favorite time of year to travel in between Terrace and Prince Rupert BC. Summer really is a stunning time of year to take this trip. Everytime I go, I am awed by the changing beauty. It's always different depending on the weather, the lighting and the colours of the flowers come and go. Glorious summer in the Northwest, so much beauty to take in.

The perfect finish to a day in the northwest. An evening canoe at the Beaver River - Kitsumkalum Lake confluence.

Trapper Mountain Sunset

Trapline Mountain (Trapper Mountain) near Terrace BC is an amazing area to explore. The views in all directions are just stunning. Small alpine lakes and mountain peaks are enough to give one pause, but then you throw in a sunset and it takes it to a whole other level.

Split Mountain Lake on the Northwest coast of BC. A little paradise. Standing on this log which seemed to be frequented by bears, I could see salmon spawning almost me. What beautiful habitat.
