A Ruffed Grouse hen keeps a watchful eye on her little ones as well as me as they duck in and out of the lichen covered lava on the Nisga'a Memorial Lava Beds Prov Park. The babies are so well camouflaged that I was only able to catch a glimpse of them as they darted about.
